What is a meal starter?
It's the chopping I did for you. Vegetables from my garden, dried and jarred, ready to become dinner.
This is not a complete meal option. It's the flavour base — the aromatic vegetables and herbs that build depth in any slow-cooking stew, soup, potjiekos, or sauce. You still add your own bulk vegetables (potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, beans, etc.) and choice of protein.
Just add 4 cups of water or stock, plus whatever protein and veg you have on hand. Simmer for 20 minutes. That's it. No chopping. No peeling. No crying over onions.
Choose between Basic and Deluxe options.
Basic Meal Starter
The classic flavour base - Onion, carrot, celery, garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Simple, clean, reliable.
Deluxe Meal Starter
Everything in the Basic starter, plus oregano, tomato, bell pepper, spinach, and mushroom. A richer, deeper flavour base for hearty stews, potjiekos, pasta sauces, or any dish that wants a savoury, umami boost.
